Marketing Specialist:

Horizon Technology (www.horizontechnology.com) is rated by leading trade magazines as one of the top ten independent computer component distributors worldwide, specializing in storage and display products. Horizon has been in business for eleven years with 20% growth each year. Horizon is currently looking for a Marketing Media Specialist to join their dynamic team!

Horizon is looking for an individual with strong business acumen who has an aggressive approach to marketing by utilizing the web and other resources. The Marketing Media Specialist will be required to conduct market research on expanding sales efforts while continually educating themselves on Horizon’s customers.

The Marketing Media Specialist will be responsible for managing media strategy & relations. Additional responsibilities include: planning, writing & distributing press releases; development of online/offline advertising campaigns: tracking, measuring & reporting campaign results; & selecting media channels; and planning & managing selected trade shows.

Responsibilities:

1. Keep informed of changes that might affect product sales and services.

2. Makes forecasts on anticipated market sales

3. Support advertising programs and communication programs designed to promote products or service

4. Develop a comprehensive media relation’s strategy and media plan

5. Manage budget for advertising, PR & other media related projects

6. Manage and execute prescribed marketing efforts

7. Evaluate new media technologies such as video, we casts, etc

8. Perform market targeting to determine optimal media placements

9. Purchasing and managing a variety of offline/online media campaigns with various cost structures such as cost per click, cost per ad, etc.

10. Maintain knowledge of media trends, development and best practices

Requirements:

1. BA degree in Marketing or related field (MBA preferred)

2. Experience and knowledge of web site technology, design and production

3. Knowledge of interactive and offline marketing concepts and practices

4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

5. Effective time management, organization, and leadership skills

US Purchasing Agent


Horizon Technology, an unconventional distributor specializing in storage and display products, is currently looking for a US Purchasing Agent to support Horizon’s sales team in our Framingham, MA office. With offices in the United States and overseas, the candidate must possess experience in a fast-paced environment and must be able to multi-task. We conduct business in all the major international markets (US, Asia, Europe and Latin America) and have branch offices in Lake Forest, CA., Framingham, MA., Taiwan, and Singapore.

Responsibilities for the position include: developing new suppliers in the US market, identifying new business opportunities to increase market share and revenue growth, building long-term business relationships and communicating with management through reports of trading activities, purchasing & sales forecasts, and quarterly business plans.
This is a dynamic position in that the candidate must be able to think quickly, be self-motivated, and have the ability to leverage new business opportunities in order to increase Horizon's market share in the market place. Maintaining and building relationships with new and existing accounts is a must!

The candidate must possess strong negotiation skills, professional telephone presence, excellent communication skills, and must be resourceful.

This position provides a tremendous opportunity for both financial and professional growth. Horizon Technology offers a base salary and a commission structure based on a percentage of Gross Profit.  Compensation is more heavily weighted towards commission. First year compensation is typically $60,000-$80,000 with a second year compensation of $80,000-$120,000.
Work hours will be 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday.

OEM Sales - Europe
 
Horizon Technology, an unconventional distributor specializing in storage and display products, is currently looking for an Account Manager to handle major European OEM and Contract Manufacturing customers. Horizon is looking for a high energy, self motivated individual who is interested in expanding their career into the global market. Responsibilities for the position include: developing new customer accounts, identifying new business opportunities to increase market share and revenue growth, building long-term executive/client relationships, communicating with management sales activity, sales forecasts, quarterly business plans through reports and heavy cold calling to advertise the products and services of Horizon Technology. This opportunity is in our Lake Forest, CA., office.
 
Horizon is looking for an aggressive sales professional with 1 to 2 years of successful, inside sales experience. Successful candidates must have a strong telephone sales presence, executive selling experience, good negotiation skills, and good oral / written communication skills. Candidates must have an understanding of European culture and preference will be made to candidates who are fluent in French or German.

This position provides a tremendous opportunity for both financial and professional growth. First year compensation is typically $60,000-$80,000 with a second year compensation of $80,000-$120,000. Expected to work Monday through Friday, 5am to 2pm out of Framingham and a graveyard shift out of our Lake Forest office.
 
Candidates with extensive sales experience and mid-management fall out need not apply.
