In the ultra competitive market of global electronics distribution, Horizon Technology is taking the lead. Horizon trades in the commodity market, but their futures contracts are for storage and display products that support the manufacturing and after-market service responsibilities of Fortune 500 consumer electronics companies.

Horizon is looking to fill an OEM Account Manager position for the North American footprint. Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Developing new customer accounts through outbound phone calls
  • Identifying new business opportunities to increase market share and revenue growth
  • Building long-term executive/client relationships
  • Communicating with management through reports of sales activities, sales forecasts and quarterly business.

Customer Service Specialist

Customer Service Specialist to join their dynamic team!

The Customer Service Specialist, also known as the Test House and Trading Support Administrator, will be responsible for all communication and material flow from Horizon to the authorized test houses. This will include communication with the Horizon Operations department to ensure that customer material is shipped in a timely fashion. Daily reports will need to be maintained to clearly track material flow. Those reports will be distributed to the test houses, Horizon Operations, Horizon sales staff, select management, and customers. This person will be 100% accountable for all the test house processes. In addition to the test houses responsibilities, this person’s day will be supplemented with Sales Support tasks if time allows.

The Customer Service Specialist will also support the Sales Team in various capacities to help ensure customer satisfaction. The position will include the following duties: order/data entry, completion of sales documents, maintenance of all sales reports, communication with the logistics department for expediting inbound and outbound shipments, running daily reports, updating sales database, and answering/distributing incoming phone calls.

The ideal candidate for this position is someone who can develop relationships over the phone, has exceptional follow up skills, and has intermediate to advanced Excel skills for tracking and accountability purposes.

Requirements:

1. Ideal candidate needs to be self motivated and detail oriented.
2. Strong communication skills and ability to multi-task.
3. Candidates must be Microsoft Excel and Word proficient.

US Purchasing Agent

Horizon Technology is currently looking for a US Purchasing Agent to support Horizon’s sales team.
Responsibilities for the position include:

  1. Developing new suppliers in the US market through outbound phone calls
  2. Identifying new business opportunities to increase market share and revenue growth
  3. Building long-term business relationships and communicating with management through reports of trading activities
  4. Purchasing & sales forecasts
  5. Quarterly business plans.

This position provides a tremendous opportunity for both financial and professional growth. Horizon Technology offers a base salary and a commission structure based on a percentage of Gross Profit.  Compensation is more heavily weighted towards commission. First year compensation is typically $60,000-$80,000 with a second year compensation of $80,000-$120,000.
Work hours will be 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday

This position is ideal for a candidate looking for an international sales opportunity where some travel will be involved. Hardware Testing Supervisor

 

Horizon Technology (www.horizontechnology.com) is looking for a Hardware Testing Supervisor to work in the Operations Department/Warehouse. In the competitive market of global electronics distribution, Horizon Technology is taking the lead. Horizon Technology’s unconventional approach to distribution has led to double digit growth year after year, but management acknowledges that no asset is more crucial to their success than the talent they hire and groom.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  1. Responsible for all aspects of the testing process for all components excluding Dell items.
  2. Performing the testing process and developing the test beds and fixtures for hard drives, LCD Screens and all other components done in-house.
  3. Performing the testing process for developing the hard drive, LCD Screen and other components testing process that includes recommending the right combination of hardware and software for in-house testing.
  4. Sourcing other test houses and resources to test product in various locations around the world.
  5. Keeping and meeting metrics set by his/her manager.
  6. Coordinating Taiwan testing policies, procedures and technical capabilities with the USA’s capabilities.
  7. Managing all 3rd party test houses for all components excluding Dell test houses and making sure that everyone is following the proper testing processes for all commodities.
  8. Responsible for developing the most accurate, efficient and updated QMS and QPs for the testing department.
  9. Must be able to work with other departments in communication updates to testing orders, setting testing policies and procedures and supervising any clerks that my be testing components in-house.

Requirements:

  1. Basic knowledge of warehouse operations.
  2. Basic accounting knowledge.
  3. Basic knowledge of Great Plains or other ERPs.
  4. Basic knowledge of computer hardware and how each components works
  5. Basic technical background.
  6. Basic Microsoft office tools.

Technical Requirements:

  1. Have an understanding of how all of the components of a computer system work (desktops, laptops and enterprise systems)
  2. Know how to trouble shoot when something is not working properly.
  3. Knowledge or be able to learn how components like the hard drive, LCD screen, CPUSs, motherboards, graphic cards, power supplies and other accessories function.
  4. The knowledge must be used to implement testing of each component and developing test beds and equipment for testing various components.
