Product Enhancement and Testing Coordinator:

Horizon Technology is currently looking for a Product Enhancement and Testing Coordinator to join their dynamic team! This position will work out of our Framingham, MA office.
The Product Enhancement and Testing Coordinator will manage secondary product enhancements and product testing for Horizon Technology’s distribution division while reporting to the Vice President of Purchasing.  This person will be responsible for the coordination of all orders related to Dell and supporting vendors.   

  • Track and manage Dell authorized test operations, quality sourcing, third party test house sourcing, and logistics.
  • Provide sales support for test quoting, scheduling, and delivery of product to Dell.
  • Coordinate and track part number testing standards and tolerances.
  • Monitor freight costs and logistics timing to determine cost effective delivery and test process.
  • Facilitate information management to support RMA/RTV process including scanned and photographed documents.
  • Maintain SN/PN database for tracking results of external processes.
  • Audit PN/SN throughout test procedures.
  • Source and qualify external test houses.
  • Coordinate customer orders and routing to external test houses.
  • Manage external test houses to expect turnaround time.
  • Negotiate test fees.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders.
  • Prepare and solicit RFQ for external test houses.
  • Maintain proactive communications between all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the transfer of non-conformance inventory to RMA department.

 

The ideal candidate will encompass the following:

  • Strong organizational skills working with numerous third party vendors across geographic locations.
  • Experience with computer components at the part number level and their application.
  • Basic knowledge of warehouse operations.
  • Basic knowledge of Great Plains or other ERPs is a plus but not required.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Credit & Collections Clerk

 

Horizon Technology (www.horizontechnology.com) is currently looking for a Credit & Collections Clerk to join their dynamic finance team! Horizon Technology is rated by leading trade magazines as one of the top ten independent computer component distributors worldwide, specializing in storage and display products. Horizon Technology has been in business for 14 years and has achieved 20% annual growth during that time.

Job duties/responsibilities consist of:

  1. Analyzes credit information to determine and establish customers’ credit limits, according to prescribed credit levels
  2. Updates system with customer credit/collections activity notes, credit ratings and credit limits daily to ensure integrity of data.
  3. Updates financial criteria on existing customers.
  4. Collects outstanding receivables for assigned major accounts in accordance with terms and conditions of sale.
  5. Reconciles disputed receivables through timely research of billing and cash application issues.
  6. Interacts with sales support and customer service in reconciling accounts.
  7. Performs financial analysis during month-end closing as required and other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 4 years of experience working in a business to business credit/collections role
  2. Knowledge of principles, theories and concepts in accounting
  3. Knowledge of Great Plains is a plus. Must be Excel and Word literate. 
  4. Effective financial analysis skills
  5. Effective organization, communication and teamwork skills

Shipping Clerk

 

Horizon Technology is looking for a Shipping Clerk to work in the Operations Department. In the competitive market of global electronics distribution, Horizon Technology is taking the lead. The Shipping Clerk will assist in the Operations Department. The responsibilities of the position are:

  1. Responsible for processing inbound and outbound product shipments.
  2. Inbound freight duties include receiving shipments, product inspection and sanitization, serial number scanning, product stocking and complete warehouse/inventory documentation.
  3. Responsible for coordinating and processing individual outbound shipments. This includes picking product, generating shipping and barcode labeling, ensuring proper packaging and shipping documentation and product staging.
  4. Participating in inventory management tasks (periodic cycle counts and monthly physical inventory inspections) and warehouse organization and cleanup.

Requirements:

  1.    Employee must be Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word literate
  2.    Must have proficiency in using the FedEx and UPS websites

Hardware Testing Supervisor

 

Horizon Technology (www.horizontechnology.com) is looking for a Hardware Testing Supervisor to work in the Operations Department/Warehouse. In the competitive market of global electronics distribution, Horizon Technology is taking the lead. Responsibilities for this position include:

  1. Responsible for all aspects of the testing process for all components excluding Dell items.
  2. Performing the testing process and developing the test beds and fixtures for hard drives, LCD Screens and all other components done in-house.
  3. Performing the testing process for developing the hard drive, LCD Screen and other components testing process that includes recommending the right combination of hardware and software for in-house testing.
  4. Sourcing other test houses and resources to test product in various locations around the world.
  5. Keeping and meeting metrics set by his/her manager.
  6. Coordinating Taiwan testing policies, procedures and technical capabilities with the USA’s capabilities.
  7. Managing all 3rd party test houses for all components excluding Dell test houses and making sure that everyone is following the proper testing processes for all commodities.
  8. Responsible for developing the most accurate, efficient and updated QMS and QPs for the testing department.
  9. Must be able to work with other departments in communication updates to testing orders, setting testing policies and procedures and supervising any clerks that my be testing components in-house.

Requirements:

  1. Basic knowledge of warehouse operations.
  2. Basic accounting knowledge.
  3. Basic knowledge of Great Plains or other ERPs.
  4. Basic knowledge of computer hardware and how each components works
  5. Basic technical background.
  6. Basic Microsoft office tools.

Technical Requirements:

  1. Have an understanding of how all of the components of a computer system work (desktops, laptops and enterprise systems)
  2. Know how to trouble shoot when something is not working properly.
  3. Knowledge or be able to learn how components like the hard drive, LCD screen, CPUSs, motherboards, graphic cards, power supplies and other accessories function.
  4. The knowledge must be used to implement testing of each component and developing test beds and equipment for testing various components.
