Kurt Johnson, Chief Executive Officer
As Chief Executive Officer of Horizon Technology, Kurt Johnson is responsible for establishing and implementing the company vision, advancing the practice and acceptance of the company's core values and managing the execution of strategic plans created to identify key new market segments and supplier business opportunities.

Johnson founded Horizon Technology in 1996 and successfully guided the company to ten years of consistent growth and profitability. He has been instrumental in building Horizon Technology into one of the industry's leading independent distributors of storage and LCD products. With over 16 years in the electronics distribution industry, Johnson transformed Horizon from a narrowly-focused service organization dedicated to refurbishing PCs into a globally-recognized independent distributor representing some of the world's largest OEMs.

Under his leadership, Horizon Technology established a new U.S. headquarters, achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification, and opened four new offices in Asia and the U.S. to support key customers and give the company a strong presence in some of the industry's top markets. For the past two years Horizon has been named to the Top 10 Global Independent Distributors list for both Electronics Supply & Manufacturing and Purchasing magazines.

Johnson was awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2005.

Prior to founding Horizon Technology, Johnson served as Vice President of Sales for Emerald Components, where he developed and led a business unit focused on the sale of electronic components.

Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at San Diego.

Mike Feffer, Chief Financial Officer. Chief Operations Officer
Michael Feffer is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Horizon Technology where he is responsible for managing the day-to-day internal operations and accelerating the organic growth of the company.

A seasoned finance executive, Feffer brings a proven track record of developing broad strategic and business planning programs for growing companies. Prior to joining Horizon Technology, Feffer was the principal of his own consulting firm for 15 years, working with start-up and mid-size companies in the U.S. and Asia.

Before starting his own firm, Feffer spent 10 years in senior financial management positions for BASF, the world's leading chemical company and Molsons , Canada 's leading brewing company.

Early in his professional career, Feffer spent five years as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) after he was awarded his certification as a public accountant from the State of New Jersey.

Feffer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey.

Matthew Cutone, Vice President of Sales
As Vice President of Sales, Matthew Cutone is responsible for overseeing global sales operations focusing on open market supply for OEM's, contract manufacturers and distributors. Cutone also provides strategic leadership for Horizon's global marketing and service initiatives.

With nearly a decade of sales and management experience, Cutone spearheads all Horizon's sales transactions and is intimately involved in day-to-day account management. Cutone joined Horizon Technology in 2001 and has been instrumental in managing the expanding sales and marketing team that supports Horizon's global OEM business and its extensive customer base.

Prior to Horizon Technology, Cutone was North American Sales Manager for Orsyp Software, a leading IT operations company, where he was responsible for overseeing all North American accounts, business development, and marketing activities. In this role, he successfully helped establish and implement domestic operations and sales efforts.

Cutone attended the University of Colorado, Boulder where he majored in both Marketing and Finance.

Jonathan Gerber, Vice President of Trading
As Vice President of Trading, Jonathan Gerber is responsible for managing the company's day-to-day trading activity, coordinating requirements with the sales team and Horizon Technology's worldwide procurement staff.

Gerber is also in charge of maintaining Horizon Technology's two largest strategic Re-Certification Partnerships with Seagate, the worldwide leader in the design, manufacturing and marketing of hard disc drives and Western Digital, one of the storage industry's pioneers that provides products and services for people and organizations that collect, manage and use digital information.

Prior to joining Horizon Technology, Gerber started as a Storage Buyer at Real World Electronics in Andover , Mass. before being promoted to Memory Commodity Manager. While at Real World, he was responsible for coordinating world wide purchases with demand from OEM customer base.

Gerber attended both Ithaca College and Framingham State College where he was a business management major.

Stephen Buckler, Vice President of Purchasing
As Vice President of Purchasing, Stephen Buckler brings a decade of industry experience to Horizon Technology. Along with being responsible for the advancement of the company brand, Stephen will align Horizon’s quadrant focus with its strategic account development.

Prior to joining Horizon, Stephen played a critical role as Vice President of Trade for Fusion Trade, a broad line distributor of electronic components. Fusion’s executive management team was the same management team behind Real World Electronics (R.W.), a $180 million dollar broad line distributor of electronic components acquired by VerticalNet/NECX in 1999. Stephen’s 11 year tenure with R.W. encompassed many capacities including: purchasing, management, memory commodity management, concluding with a Vice President of Purchasing role. His leadership and insight was a major asset to the organizations successes.

Stephen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Le Moyne College.

Robert Christiansen, Chief Information Officer
As Chief Information Officer at Horizon Technology and Horizon Display, Robert is responsible for advancing the practice and acceptance of the company’s core values, recruiting & developing IT staff, and creating & implementing strategic IT plans. Mr. Christiansen joins Horizon from ARM iNSIGHT, a loyalty and rewards provider to the prepaid debit card market. Prior to ARM iNSIGHT, Mr. Christiansen was co-founder of Bank Freedom, a VISA and MasterCard prepaid debit card provider. While at Bank Freedom he served as COO and EVP of New Business Development. .

Prior to joining Bank Freedom, Mr. Christiansen operated several successful Internet retail operations (as both owner and consultant) from 2002 – 2006. In 1999, Mr. Christiansen launched the Southern California operations of All Covered, Inc, a professional consulting company focused on small business technology services. Mr. Christiansen went on to manage the western region of All Covered and was instrumental in developing the repeatable success of the business model. From 1987 to 1998 Mr. Christiansen held various positions at Artios Corp including VP of Consulting Services and Manager of R&D of software development for the international paper industry..
