HORIZON TECHNOLOGY LAUNCHES ONE OF INDUSTRY’S
ONLY GLOBAL SUPPLY AND DEMAND DATABASES
LAKE FOREST , Calif. -- Feb. 15, 2005 -- Horizon Technology, a leading independent distributor specializing in information storage and display products, today launched Proactive PartMatchTM, its proprietary global supply and demand (GSD) database management tool designed exclusively for its customers to help substantially reduce unit costs and increase productivity.
The Proactive PartMatch system from Horizon continuously monitors global supply and demand information while automatically generating spot market trading opportunities based on pre-established customer preferences for price and quantity. Horizon’s Proactive PartMatch systematically and confidentially matches the supply and demand records of more than 9,200 Horizon trading partners globally, by manufacturer, part number, quantity and price. A real-time service, the system will match past and present supply data, as well as future supply once it’s added to the database. When a match occurs, a Horizon account manager is alerted and the customer is then notified of the opportunity based on their specifications.
