HORIZON TECHNOLOGY EXPANDS GLOBAL PRESENCE WITH NEW ASIA OFFICE
LAKE FOREST , Calif. -- March 1, 2005 -- Horizon Technology, a leading independent distributor specializing in information storage and display products , today announced it has expanded its global operations into Taiwan.
Horizon's new office in Taiwan will serve both Chinese and global customers. Horizon has been serving the Asian market through its Seoul, Korea-based location. The office will provide sourcing services for global customers and sales support for Asian customers. This new office represents an expanded presence in Asia and reflects the need for additional capacity to support the growing demand for Horizon's display solutions and storage products.
“Our expansion into Taiwan better enables Horizon to support the large number of suppliers in the area in addition to launching in country sales efforts in the Asian market”, said Kurt Johnson, chief executive office of Horizon Technology. "Establishing a deep presence in Asia is an important part of our long-term global strategy and we are excited by the prospects of working more closely with our global partners.”
To strengthen its move into Taiwan , Horizon has appointed Cindy Cheng as Manager of the Taiwan office. She will report to Eddie Chu, Global Purchasing Manager for Horizon Technology based in Lake Forest , Calif. Cheng is responsible for servicing Horizon's existing Asian suppliers and customers, as well as meeting the increasing demand for Horizon's products and services solutions throughout the continent.
Cindy Cheng brings nearly 10 years experience in electronics manufacturing, repair and distribution industries. “ Cheng 's extensive local knowledge and experience will enable Horizon to effectively develop this market," concluded Johnson.
Horizon's Asian operations include an office in Seoul , Korea and now Taiwan .
